3 photos: The past is alive for those willing to make it.

The past is alive for those willing to make it. Old Growth, our Kentucky Common, returns today, once again giving us a glimpse into the country's brewing past. It's a delicious and easygoing ale with notes of caramel, sweet corn, and a hint of floral spice. The prohibition years did more than kill off established breweries; entire styles disappeared. The Kentucky common was a regional ale, similar to a Cream Ale but darker and more flavorful. There was a time when it made up 80% of the market around Louisville. Craft beer fans' insatiable curiosity helped give this forgotten style a second life; while it is still rare, especially outside of Kentucky, we're happy to give it its due praise. Ours is made with traditional ingredients, including corn, 6-row barley, black malt, and the oldest known American hop variety, Cluster hops. If you're serving friends at your home bar, its subtle sweetness and drinkability make it a perfect companion to any of our bourbon vintages. A one-of-a-kind boilermaker indeed.

Big Bear Barrel Blend returns after a lengthy hibernation. This blend of young Imperial Brown Ale and barrel-aged Imperial Brown carries a wonderful malt complexity and assertive American hoppiness. Following notes of brown bread, caramel, cocoa, and earthy hops is a tannic finish with a hint of vanilla imparted by American oak. Our blending sessions usually consist entirely of barrel-aged threads matured in different producers’ vessels for varied lengths of time. This variation within our line of brown ales, however, takes the best of both worlds: the robust qualities of fresh beer paired with the seasoned notes that come from a patient rest in our favorite bourbon barrels. For those familiar with our darker beers, fresh and aged alike, Big Bear Barrel Blend offers a wholly unique experience by thoughtfully combining these two distinct profiles.

Until next time, Two Weeks of Truth. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed their enthusiasm for our flagship Barrel-aged stout. Each year, we learn a bit more about it and carry those learnings forward in an effort for perpetual improvement, and we hope that energy reverberates in your glass. We are already planning for next year - Enjoy! PS - If you happened to miss the festivities, a few bottles are still out there, but they will not last long so get after it while they are here. 🙏🏻

5 photos: Spumoni Truth. 🇮🇹

Spumoni Truth. 🇮🇹 Modeled after the famous Italian dessert, we conditioned this batch of Truth on roasted pistachios and whole cherries. The chocolate and vanilla notes inherent to our barrel-aged Stouts meld effortlessly with these classic ingredients. Hovering above its creamy tan head are notes of nutty pistachio paste, dark cherry syrup, vanilla bean, and chocolate ganache. This is a fun one to end on, friends - we hope you have a chance to enjoy it and that it can contribute a meaningful addition to your celebrations.

Happy Valentine’s day, gang - and happy start of school vacation week. We hope we can be your home away from home for a small part of it.

3 photos: Double Barrel Truth.

Double Barrel Truth. We love Bourbon. We love it so much, we make it every single week, fill barrels with the young spirit, and cart them to our rickhouse for aging. In the meantime, we also enjoy drinking it. Regarding today's Truth release, patience was rewarded. The bourbon character is up front and center in this variation of Truth. After aging for one year in barrels that previously held bourbon, it is then re-racked into a second, freshly emptied selection. This secondary extended aging brings forth robust aromas of toffee ice cream and notes of woody spice. It is a maximalist barrel-aged stout in every sense of the word, and overflows with intense flavor and complexity. It is perhaps our favorite of the bunch. Available now.

Very Green Pineapple Vanilla = Bliss. This riff on Very Green pours a creamy yellow color and bursts with tropical notes from hand-selected Galaxy hops! To enhance its rich aromas, we added sweet, sticky pineapple and whole bean vanilla, creating a smoothie-like drinking experience. What a ride.

We are delighted to introduce our Maple Bourbon Latte: a rich, comforting expression of coffee, inspired by classic bourbon character and pure maple sweetness. What begins as a rich cold brew is finished with a special in-house sweetener made by our coffee team. We heat pure maple syrup and infuse it with Tree House Distillery’s own bourbon, losing only the alcohol in the heating process while capturing all the wonderful notes of caramel, toasted oak, and gentle smoke. The result is a latte that feels indulgent yet balanced: softly sweet, subtly complex, and deeply comforting. Finished with nitrogen for an exceptionally smooth and creamy texture, this is a quietly bold take on a classic latte. Dang.

Forget snow, the forecast is looking Hazy. Every Haze release day is cause for celebration. Pair that with the end of the work week and we have reason to toss a bag of ice in the cooler and head to Tree House for some fresh goodies. Stay tuned - there's more to come!

Bear with just a hint of Coffee to shake off that hibernation. As soon as the beans are roasted and off-gassed, we bag 'em up and let the beer flow. Bear, conditioned on our house beans, is an aromatic delight; it complements this old standby like nothing else.

3 photos: Are you one of the few who haven't tried Bear?

Are you one of the few who haven't tried Bear? It is time, my friend. Bear is our American Brown Ale that perfectly balances our love of malt complexity and bold hoppy flavor. Pouring a deep brown, the glass fills with aromas of toasted brown bread, toffee, citrus, and pine. Following behind are notes of caramel malts, coffee, and roasted nuts. Bear has been a constant in our lineup due to its commanding profile and effortless drinkability. It might not look like a core beer, but it comes around often and for good reason.

Cardamom Mizunara Truth is one of our most unique entries into the world of Imperial Stouts. It leads with aromas of chocolate-cardamom cake and fleeting notes of mint and citrus, before revealing layers of oaky spice, coconut, sandalwood, and coffee. Beyond its incredible flavor, Cardamom Mizunara Truth was a conceptual and patient endeavor. Unlike American and European varieties, Japanese Mizunara oak can take up to 200 years for its trunk to reach a size large enough to harvest and cut into proper staves for aging. When available on the market, it is usually quickly snatched up by eager distillers. The opportunity to finally imbue our favorite Imperial Stout with its properties was a bucket list moment for us. Mizunara has a striking duality. On the one hand, it imparts sweet and mellow aromas usually associated with tropical hardwoods, while also being decidedly more robust, spicy, and tannic than American oak. The finicky nature of nailing the balance between these qualities in distilled products is a hurdle, given the relative blank slate of a spirit in comparison to Imperial Stout. To us, the robust coffee and syrupy dark chocolate character of Truth is the perfect vessel to complement these sweet, tropical-like notes and easily temper its tannic kick. The addition of cardamom acts as a fleur de sel, an equally underutilized ingredient, adding a hint of field mint and dried citrus peel to the finish. We could talk all day about this one, but we'd rather you experience it for yourself. Don't sleep!

3 photos: We're super excited about this beer.

We're super excited about this beer. The Boss! This new rendition of Big Bear is conditioned on maple black tea. Pouring a dark color with a head of coffee-colored foam, the aromas of brown bread, caramel, dried fruits, and earthy American hops greet the senses. On top of this robust introduction are mellow notes of maple sugar candies, Irish breakfast tea, and a hint of citrus that lingers on the palate. We have a few Grizzly enthusiasts in our ranks, if you couldn't tell from our recurring beer Queen of the Tetons. This beer honors another famous bear from our national parks, "the Boss", who is so beastly he's survived being struck by not one but two trains. His story is worth a dive on Wikipedia while you sip on this robust American Brown. More to come!

Woodstock Pilsner returns and is zippy as ever. Its crisp base is made with Connecticut-grown malts and noble German hops. It’s a special thing to drink a beer made with ingredients grown a stone’s throw from where you’re sitting. It’s also a special thing to drink it in the barn. See you this weekend?

2 photos: Coffee, candy, or both?

Coffee, candy, or both? Candy Blast Watermelon Co-Ferment! These beans were co-fermented with yeast and dried watermelon for five additional days after an initial fermentation, then mechanically dried for 10 days to ensure even moisture levels. The result is a boost of refreshing sweetness and an aromatic delight that can only be described as candy. So, who’s behind this exciting release? The Bayter family’s farm at El Vergel was originally an avocado farm in the 1990s, but by 2016, a specialty coffee empire was born, embracing innovation through a wide range of coffee varieties and fermentation styles. This symphony of passion for coffee, paired with a little technical magic, truly allows El Vergel Estates to stand out. Last year, Tree House had the pleasure of meeting the fine folks at Forest Coffee and was able to source Pink Honey—a Pink Bourbon coffee—from Elias and Shady Bayter of El Vergel Estate. It quickly became one of our collective favorite coffees of the year. When it came time to renew this harvest’s container, we requested additional samples, and we were certainly not disappointed. Available both in-store and online now.

3 photos: Maple

Maple Cinnamon French Toast TRUTH. Within Truth’s decadent body, warming aromas of maple syrup and thick-cut French toast rise from the glass and give way to a subtle cinnamon finish. Breakfast is now officially a dessert.

Mind Over Matter is a good place to start. This Double IPA carries wonderful notes of citrus and stone fruit, with hints of guava, white peach, and orange zest. The unique character in this beer comes from a hop you don’t hear too much about: Elani. When we first came across this hop, we fell in love with its aromatics and made it a point to procure lots from the same grower every year. Hop selection is a grueling process that requires patience and a whole lot of Zyrtec from the pollen overdose. It takes immense focus not to become desensitized to the overlapping aromas of each hop lot. Even after a day of crushing hop cones, Elani stood out, and we still think it deserves a beer all its own. Keep your head up and keep the Faith in a Positive Outcome.

3 photos: Year of the Horse! 🐎

Year of the Horse! 🐎 This Double explodes with notes of crushed white grape, passionfruit soda, lychees, and mango nectar! Our friends at Eggers took a conceptual project to new heights with this one. The lot of Nelson used in this beer was harvested under the lunar eclipse of the harvest moon. Heady stuff. The Year of the Horse traditionally symbolizes vitality, progress, and passion. The horse represents freedom from old patterns and unbridled authenticity. This year happens to be a Fire Horse year, which only takes place every 60 years, and is thought to intensify these qualities that imbue our journey.

3 photos: Idle Mind is our Vienna Lager.

Idle Mind is our Vienna Lager. Flavor does not have to sacrifice crispness and drinkability by any means. This beer’s toasty character and hints of caramel come from the use of Vienna malt. These flavors cascade over the palate before dissipating into a soft finish. This style found a new life when brewers in Mexico adapted its recipe as a facet of their amber lagers. It’s an incredible style with historic European roots and a secondary seal of approval from our crispy connoisseurs to the south.

We're out here trying to manifest warmer weather with our delicious Cape Codder! A refined take on a coastal classic, this cocktail highlights New England’s beloved cranberry. House vodka is balanced with fresh cranberry juice and a bright splash of lime, resulting in a crisp, elegantly refreshing pour. Made by hand, for you.

2 photos: What a sight.

What a sight. In celebration of two weeks of Truth, we're tapping vintage barrels today in Charlton, Deerfield, Sandwich, Saratoga, and Tewksbury. Last year’s bottlings of Truth produced some incredible beers, and one of our favorites was a perennial favorite: Vanilla Bean Truth. A year out from its bottling, the already mellow booziness of its Imperial base is further tempered, making way for even more robust notes of vanilla syrup, vanilla wafers, and dark chocolate–covered bourbon candy. It is an absolute treat on draft.

2 photos: Truth or Dare 🌶️

Truth or Dare 🌶️ We’re not messing around with this one - by choosing dare, we uncovered the truth. This variation was aged on fresh-cut ghost peppers. Lurking beneath the luscious malty sweetness is a burst of heat that lingers alongside notes of rich dark chocolate. It might sound scary, but pepper and chocolate are an oft-forgotten delicious combo; it's intense, but it's held within a sweet, complex profile that invites another sip.
