What a sight. In celebration of two weeks of Truth, we're tapping vintage barrels today in Charlton, Deerfield, Sandwich, Saratoga, and Tewksbury. Last year’s bottlings of Truth produced some incredible beers, and one of our favorites was a perennial favorite: Vanilla Bean Truth. A year out from its bottling, the already mellow booziness of its Imperial base is further tempered, making way for even more robust notes of vanilla syrup, vanilla wafers, and dark chocolate–covered bourbon candy. It is an absolute treat on draft.
Not everything is as clear as it seems. Alongside our large-format releases during Two Weeks of Truth, we're bringing back a special blend that you can keep to yourself or gift to someone new to the world of barrel-aged stouts: Half Truth! To create 'Half Truth', we blend a thread of freshly brewed stout with select threads of its bigger brother 'Truth'. The base beer is lighter in body and texture, so when blended with a big barrel-aged expression, the result is a deceptively rich and robust stout. Notes of vanilla bean swirl with aromas of fresh crushed cacao and toasty chocolate malts. This beer bridges the distinct flavors of young Imperial Stout and its well-rested, oak-aged brethren. Perfect for when you want that magical flavor, but perhaps you don't feel like sharing.
Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me Truth. Two Weeks of Truth commences today. Once a year, we embark on a quest to empty our finest barrels from our extensive aging cellar. Packaged in beautiful bottles, perfect for sharing and contemplation, we will release classic iterations and brand-new flavors. An immense amount of planning goes into each release: it begins with barrel selection from our favorite bourbon producers, blending different vintages, and ultimately resting them on a variety of inventive ingredients. To kick things off, we have the endlessly refined pure Truth, the 'grand cuvée' expression of our decadent imperial stout that offers layers of complex flavors while remaining effortlessly drinkable. 2026 Truth is a blend of Stouts aged from 1 to 3 years and carries notes of chocolate, bourbon, candy, sweet vanilla-like oak, Tootsie Rolls, and baker’s chocolate. It is the best expression of Truth yet, embodying our ideals of perpetual improvement and intention. The Space Between Truths: Further Reaches with Vanilla is a barrel-aged stout consisting of two distinct batches of Truth—one aged 28 months, the other 36 months—which is then blended with a single batch of barrel-aged Space & Time aged 30 months. It was then conditioned on mounds of freshly scoured vanilla beans. The synergy between the chocolate notes of the base beer, the vanilla character of charred American Oak, and the sweet, mellow aroma of fresh vanilla beans is something to behold. These differences are cataloged throughout its rest and eventually blended until the desired flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel represent the pinnacle of their attributes. The Space Between Truths: Further Reaches is a pure barrel-aged stout consisting of two distinct batches of Truth—one aged 28 months, the other 36 months—which is then blended with a single batch of barrel-aged Space & Time aged 30 months. It is a complex expression of threads from our barrel program blended such that we accentuate the best individual attributes of each. We are proud to introduce The Space Between Truths, a pure barrel-aged stout that highlights 3 exemplary threads from our barrel program. Blending 17 and 22 month-old Truth, and 19 month-old Space & Time, this stout achieves greatness beyond the sum of its very impressive parts.
3.3.23 Project Find the Limit Vanilla Bean # 6. This beer features a Truth base featuring an increasing volume of whole-bean vanilla. Truth is the most superlative expression from our barrel program. From there, we add an obscene amount of whole-bean vanilla of varying origins. For #6, we use far more vanilla than we have ever utilized in a beer, and thus, the batch volume is exceedingly small. It won't be available for long and will likely sell out today.
