We also have the beans used in our Summer Crush Cold Brew available in whole bean form. This naturally processed coffee is from Yirgacheffe, a region in Ethiopia known not only for its vibrant acidity and floral aroma, but also often considered the birthplace of coffee. Sometimes the smallest producers have the most significant impact on our craft. Stumbling across a small-batch producer of this caliber, with such a unique profile, feels akin to discovering buried treasure. This stunning fruit-forward roast carries the name of its smallholder producer, Mengeshe Gumi, from the municipality of Worka Sakaro. Small batch indeed; his entire lot for this harvest season was only 50 bags. Hot weather calls for juicy coffee! We love strong cold brew, but it's so good to be able to add a few icy ounces to our daily routine. Summer Crush is brewed to a lower strength of caffeine than our standard cold brew process for maximum thirst-quenching enjoyment. In search of refreshment, this year we decided to use a bean new to us from Ethiopia. This roast is exceptionally bright with notes of clementine and kiwi. The Freedom Trail. This 2.5 mile brick pathway snakes through the city connecting 16 historical sites linked to the birth of our country. When it comes to the fourth of July, we go big or go home, but this release is a more quiet reflection on the role our great state played in our nation’s story. When crafting this variation on our most tenured Lager, Trail, we used Massachusetts Pilsner malt pouring a brilliant pale yellow that snaps with subtle notes of water crackers. On top of this base, US-grown Tettnanger and Saaz hops effuse notes of lemon peel, black tea, and spring wildflowers. With this beer we reflect on those that were willing to sacrifice for a better future.
