We're in a New York state of mind. You might recognize the design, but the hops are all new in our latest DIPA, Excelsior. Leading with New York-grown hop aroma, it absolutely bursts with tangelo zest, donut peaches, and orange blossom honey. The hop heads might remember when growers released hop blends like the ever-popular Falconer's Flight; some of these perennial blends were so distinctive that it was only after the fact that you realized it wasn't a singular hop. That's certainly the case with this blend dubbed "Excelsior" from our friends at the Hop Guild in New York. We think it's an incredible expression of New York terroir. With this week’s Cocktail of the Week, we’ve unlocked a new level of coziness thanks to our newest winter cocktail. Hot. Buttered. Rum. It starts with a blend of two of our rums, which are worth talking about if you haven’t sampled them on their own. Richley Hogo rum is a classic overproof rum made with blackstrap molasses; it’s incredibly smooth despite its higher ABV and carries robust esters that lend it to tropical concoctions. Richley Rum is our unfiltered Blanc Rum whose subtle sweet profile comes from golden molasses and raw cane syrup. Served hot with a house-made spiced butterball, silky notes of sweet cream and winter spices melt under a crown of cinnamon-dusted whipped cream. Sheesh.

🚨🚨🚨 PLOW HERO! 🚨🚨🚨 This past weekend was certainly a reminder that the world comes to a standstill without our plow drivers, the night riders who keep it all moving in the quiet of the dark. Plow Hero is a riff on our series of winter Double IPAs, think Bomb Cyclone with an astoundingly larger hop charge. It is a wildly tropical expression of hops and a well-deserved reward for anyone clearing their driveway, large or small. When we were building out our Charlton location, the first things on our mind were the obvious: brew house, fermenters, canning line, etc. It's easy to forget that there's a long, winding road that leads to all that equipment, and New England weather often has nefarious plans. Just below the surface, colors fade as we sink into the formless deep. Leagues Below is a deceptively light-bodied Belgian Stout despite its impenetrable black color. To craft it, we used a Belgian yeast strain, a traditional malt bill, and a flash of American hops. Underneath its coffee-colored head are notes of burnt sugar, espresso roast, cherry, and a hint of spice.
