Rover joins a list of recent beers - Nomad, Wanderer, Outlier, Pearl, Dreamer, & Trail - that represent a new era of artistic growth and evolution for Tree House Brewing Company.
Before the world went pale, Munich drank dark. Rover is our Munich Dunkel, a beer style over 500 years old. A single sip from its toffee colored head of foam, and it's easy to see why it stuck around. Notes of rustic grain, chocolate, and caramel rise from the glass and follow through across the palate before a surprisingly crisp finish. We often talk about refinement in our recurring beers; this one has half a millennium behind it. The summer season has its more obvious choices, light lagers and juicy hop bombs galore, but there's something special about a dark lager on the porch and a cool breeze. We love, love, love, love, love this beer.
Rover, our Munich Dunkel, is a cornerstone of our Lager program. This hearty Lager is full of rich flavors of brown bread, toffee, and caramel, balanced by the noble spice of Tettnanger hops. Part of what makes Munich Dunkels so special is a mineral-rich water profile, one we carefully mimic when brewing Rover. Without this crucial element of Bavaria's natural terroir, the malt notes, while present, wouldn't shine nearly as beautifully. It feels like a bit of a magic trick, how incredibly flavorful Rover is before finishing clean. Such is the beauty of Lager yeast and proper conditioning when combined with legendary Munich malts. It's such a satisfying beer. #productphotography #productphotodaily #photography #craftbeer #treehousebrewing #beergram #beerstagram #beersandcameras #beerlover #beerbeerbeer #beerme #beergeek #beertography #beernerd #fujifilm #gfx100II @fujifilmx_us@profoto
Lagers are not to be rushed. Our Patient series honors this most important of ingredients when making these classic styles: time. Rover, our Munich Dunkel, is a beer we’ve refined over the years, and we thought it deserved an even longer stay in our stainless steel horizontals. So long, in fact, that this batch was brewed in early June. Sporting an even softer character and incredibly tight carbonation, Patient Rover presents in rare form with notes of molten toffee, brown bread, mild chocolate, and caramel. We like to describe many of our lagers as effortlessly drinkable, even crushable, but we urge you to grab your favorite glass, slow pour this beer, and take a moment to enjoy its evolving appearance and the subtle complexity of the style. #productphotography #productphotodaily #photography #craftbeer #treehousebrewing #beergram #beerstagram #beersandcameras #beerlover #beerbeerbeer #beerme #beergeek #beertography #beernerd #fujifilm #gfx100II @fujifilmx_us@profoto
Rover, our Munich-style Dunkel lager, is a love letter to the rich history of German brewing. It's one of the oldest styles of beer incorporated in the early days of the Reinheitsgebot purity law and would have been commonplace on any table across Germany. There's a reason we still make it some 500 years later. Pouring a deep, copper-brown color with aromas of rustic grain, chocolate, and molten toffee, it's as complex as it is crisp and refreshing. Liquid bread, indeed. Stop by the classics bar and get it on the side pull, or grab a 4-pack to go. #productphotography #productphotodaily #photography #craftbeer #treehousebrewing #beergram #beerstagram #beersandcameras #beerlover #beerbeerbeer #beerme #beergeek #beertography #beernerd #fujifilm #gfx100II @fujifilmx_us@profoto
Rover is our Munich Dunkel.
As a centerpiece of our ambitious lager program, Rover honors tradition by utilizing a tedious mashing process of primarily Dark Munich malts to create flavors and aromas of molten toffee, brown bread, mild chocolate, and caramel. A sturdy addition of Tettnanger hops provides balance and depth. A clean dark chestnut color and wispy off-white head only add to the mouth-watering appeal of this beer. It is thoughtful, elegant, and packed with nuance and character. Beers that command your attention are wonderful. Beers that can fade into the background as a complementary, unspoken companion to celebratory moments in life are also wonderful and deserve to be held in equally high esteem. Rover fulfills the latter vision beautifully. #productphotography #productphotodaily #photography #craftbeer #treehousebrewing #beergram #beerstagram #beersandcameras #beerlover #beerbeerbeer #beerme #beergeek #beertography #beernerd #fujifilm #gfx100II @fujifilmx_us@profoto
Rover is our Munich Dunkel. Meticulously crafted to honor tradition, this immensely flavorful lager is an ideal accompaniment to your autumnal special moments.
Over the years we have quietly and assiduously worked in the background to assemble a wealth of knowledge, recipes, and a deep understanding of historical styles that we did not yet have the physical infrastructure to pursue on a commercial scale concomitantly with our core product offerings - until now. These beers are almost a decade in the making, and it is with great excitement and palpable joy that we are now able to share them with you.
