Alter Ego is a member of the Julius family, taking the base of Julius and adding a tremendous amount of Mosaic to the dry hop with a kiss of Amarillo. What results is a beer with all the deliciousness of Julius with a pungent additional layer of citrusy complexity.

Alter Ego hitting all the right notes 🫐🥭 As we enter our anniversary season, new beers and novel riffs on classic favorites begin to enter the rotation. More than a decade ago, Alter Ego was one of those "one-offs" - a beer brewed identically to Julius, but with a different blend of hops on the cold side. Over the years, it's only gotten better as we've refined our processes and incorporated hand-selected hop lots that bring even more character to its aromatics. You never know what's going to stick around and earn a place in the core beer trophy case, but every now and then, a one-off becomes something much more. 🍻💙
DOUBLE RAINBOW 😭😭😭🌈🌈 We took some of our favorite characteristics from our core beers and created a monster Double IPA. Green’s burst of pineapple, Haze’s peachy heaven, Julius’s citrus kick, and Alter Ego’s blueberry mango smoothie all collide in this hoppy tropical treat. It’s kind of like when the Transformers combine into Megatron.
Woodstock starts summer hours this week - seven days a week - and to celebrate, we have fresh Doubleganger at the Farm! One of our more elusive beers, Doubleganger — an amplified version of Alter Ego — has been flying out of our cooler lately, so we wanted to make sure you can still get your hands on it. Bursting with notes of peach, blueberry, and juicy mango, it delivers a fluffy body with a thirst-quenching bitter bite on the finish. There's nothing better than enjoying a pint in our Adirondack chairs or lounging on a blanket while watching the wind ripple through the grass across the rolling hills of the farm.
🫐🫐 🥭🥭 🍑🍑 = Doubleganger Little did we know when we first made Alter Ego, a Julius riff brewed with different hops, that we had set off a chain reaction and an entirely new line of core beers. Doubleganger is amplified with a massive charge of Amarillo and Mosaic hops while still retaining a creamy finish. Juicy, soft, a little bitter, and strangely familiar. D-d-d-amn!
Made you look. Twice. 👀 👀 We thought the Alter Ego transfer was a little light... Earlier this week, our cellar team split off a portion of Alter Ego and racked it into a brite tank loaded with peach and mango purée. It bursts with aromas of juicy citrus and tropical fruit, driven by an intense Mosaic and Amarillo dry hop. The addition of peach and mango purée adds layers of ripe stone-fruit character alongside notes of creamy mango smoothie. What a gem! A legendary move 🫡

In the summer of 2015, we introduced a design that is virtually unchanged a decade later and has been enjoyed the world over. Originally released during anniversary season in 2015, Alter Ego represented a deviation from our hop profile, and long before we released it to the public, our little brewery was abuzz. For those of us that were there in the early days of hazy IPA, Mosaic was a big deal. A select few West Coast breweries had access to it when it was still called HBC 369, an intriguing variety touting notes of blueberry, mango, and even black pepper. When we started to experiment with it, we quickly realized the hype was real, and once blended with Amarillo, we quickly had a core-worthy beer. We’ve never lost the excitement of discovery; in fact, there are more experimental varieties than ever before. Our ability to select the best lots of our favorite hops across the world will always give us goosebumps.
