Silver Sheep is a singular New Zealand IPA brewed entirely with Motueka and Riwaka hops grown by our friends Mike & Kem Eggers from the Upper Moutere region of New Zealand. Full of quirks and distinction, these hops really stand out. This hybrid lager and IPA is brewed with our House hoppy beer yeast strain fermented cool alongside our House pilsner strain.
Like the Silver Sheep before it, the Black Sheep emerges as as novel take on hoppy beer, featuring the smooth appeal of a lager yeast coupled with the biotransformation properties of our House ale yeast. Silver Sheep is a hybrid Tree House-style IPA, and lager brewed with all New Zealand hops from our friends Kem and Mike Eggers of Eggers Hops. The biotransformation that occurred here is some of the most wild we've experienced. Chewy white wine, passion fruit, and citrus notes explode from the glass. It is remarkably soft on the palate, lending an ease of drinkability that instantly rockets this gem to our favorite recent offerings. It currently pours a translucent yellow that will likely brighten up in the can with time. I haven't seen the crew this excited about a beer since I can't remember when.
