We've been looking forward to this beer for over a year. After a few failed attempts, we think we've really hit on something special with this classic West Coast-style Triple IPA. Marcus Aurelius is a Triple IPA dosed with a staggering charge of Pacific Northwest hops. Citra, Nugget, Centennial, and Simcoe combine and burst with notes of pine, citrus peel, and bitter hoppiness. Resin, grapefruit, lingering bitterness. It tastes decidedly old school, with a brightness and modernity that just make us grin. Meditations, a collection of his thoughts, is a work of deep reflection, ruthless self-examination, and a celebration of the human spirit; it is as resonant now as it was then, nearly 2000 years ago. Within its pages lie the inner workings of a great mind that sought to relinquish what one cannot control and instead turn one’s efforts towards the cultivation of virtue and wisdom.
