Curiosity Eighteen

Family, summer, barbecues. . Independence! We brewed Eighteen as the beer we wanted to be drinking this Fourth of July. She's dry, soft, citrusy, and supremely drinkable for such a big beer. We taste a melange of bright citrus paired with pungent hop bag saturation - a culmination of sorts between C15 & C16.

The single most essential principle of our growth and evolution has been to preserve, evolve, and nurture what makes us unique as time passes. This is a fight that not every endeavor wins, but if it’s the last thing we do, we’ll make it so. We’re proud of our work to date, and it’s regular reflection on our past that’s essential to energizing our future. Today, we’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of Curiosity 18 by re-releasing it. It was a critical beer for us in many ways. It marked the start of our working relationship with @keever, which has lasted for the same decade and produced hundreds of original labels of character and style and continues unabated. July 2015 marked a pivotal period in our evolution into canning beer, which placed enormous strains on our production capabilities that we didn’t get ahead of for almost a decade. It’s a period we look back on with mixed feelings; on one hand, it was new and exciting. On the other hand, it was crushing and produced work that was regularly subpar, as it was largely a trial by fire. Most rituals blur together, but certain moments stand out: a great party, fireworks lighting up the sky from a mountaintop, the curious nostalgia of being somewhere new. Those memories stick with us and refuse to fade. As time passes, many things change, but often the core of what we value most remains the same. We could all use more constants in our lives. It’s a beautiful thing.
