Breezy is a traditional Gose, pouring an opaque straw color with a smattering of foam islands sinking into the glass. Within its mildly tart profile, sea salt and coriander add a touch of salinity and peppery spice. Furthering its delicate balance, Hallertau Mittelfrüh lends a mix of herbal and lemon notes to its crisp finish.
Joining the ranks of our family of mildly tart, refreshing ales is Breezy, our first Gose in a very long time. Brewed with sea salt, coriander, and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops, it offers notes of bright lemon and herbal spice, culminating in a crisp, refreshing finish. Long before "electrolytes" were in every beverage under the sun, Gose was brewed with refreshment in mind. A touch of salt lends a sense of replenishment, making it remarkably satisfying on a hot day. Named after the Gose River in Germany, the style originated nearby sometime in the 10th or 11th century. It nearly disappeared by the 1960s, with only a single commercial producer keeping the tradition alive. The American craft beer movement gave Goses a second life, embracing both their unusual history and their distinctive combination of salt, coriander, and gentle tartness. Curious ingredients aside, it's simply an incredibly easy-drinking beer. For us, Breezy is the ultimate summer afternoon beer—the perfect companion after a day spent swimming. ☀️🏊🌊🍺
