Today, we are pleased to introduce a new series of beers to support small American growers and maltsters while exploring the differences in terroir related to hyper-specific growing regions. The first beer is brewed entirely with malt grown and malted just a few miles south of us in Connecticut by our agricultural partners at Thrall Family Malt. Each batch will contain the same combination of hand-selected, American-grown hops, enabling differences in the malt to shine. American IPA—Thrall Family Malt pours a glowing orange color into your glass. It carries notes of orange juice, pineapple, and mango with a firm bitterness. The malt character is relatively dry and features hints of bready malt, hay, and whispers of nuttiness. Like hops, malted barley conveys significant terroir unique to each region and processing philosophy.
